The NFL is now talking about pay-to-play, letting Coldplay, Katy Perry, or Rihanna play the 2015 Super Bowl Halftime Show depending on which of them pays the NFL the most. I wonder what exactly the criteria was to choose the acts all along? Was it just a few execs making the final choice or what? This sounds like a great solution. In fact, why shouldn't all the other networks have their own concerts and then at halftime you switch to the concert with the bands you like? More competition. One could be more metal, another hip hop... Then tv viewers could decide which they want to watch. Think that's a great idea.
