A great addition to your Halloween party is a pumpkin with the upper half cut off. Fill it with ice and throw in some soft drinks for the guests. On the other hand, you can dress up those plastic pumpkins for trick-or-treating by spray-painting them black, covering the mouth area with a gas mask and using mesh strainers for eyes. It will be sort of a cross between Darth Vader and The Fly.
Finally, take one of your old books and cut out a heart shape with one of your precision knives. Dip the heart in orange paint and then run glue up and down the spine. Then fan out the pages for a homemade paper jack-o-lantern craft.
